Steppas Academy is about sharing knowledge, inspiring creativity and helping the next generation of artists find their own sound, and I’m proud to contribute to something I believe in so deeply.
As someone just starting out in the music industry, the templates and practical resources have been invaluable, saving me time and money and giving me the confidence to navigate the business side of things.
The feedback loop is invaluable. Getting direct notes from people who actually understand the culture and frequency response.
I am finally beginning to understand the business side of releasing music independently. The guides on publishing and royalties were a game changer for me.
The history and culture content is deep. You can tell it was made by people who actually live this, not just academics writing about it from the outside.
I love the concept behind Steppas Academy, bringing people together to share knowledge, learn from each other and grow creatively. I am really excited to be part of it!
Sharing my journey as a singer, from finding my voice to performing on sound systems around the world, has been a rewarding experience, especially knowing it might inspire others to find their own path.
The acapellas and multitracks alone make the membership worthwhile. Getting to explore how my favourite artists build their music and create my own dub mixes from their recordings is priceless.
It has been fascinating to watch those spontaneous, unplanned moments with artists on the road, the genuine conversations and experiences that offer a real insight into their creative lives.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this suitable for beginners?
Yes. While we have advanced masterclasses, we also cover foundational concepts of music production, label management, and sound system operation. The community is highly supportive of newcomers who respect the culture.
What DAWs do the tutorials cover?
Our instructors use various DAWs including Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Cubase and FL Studio. However, the techniques taught, EQ, compression, analog emulation, dub mixing, are conceptual and apply to any DAW or hardware setup.
Can I use the stems and samples in commercial releases?
Sample packs are 100% royalty-free. Stems provided for mixing practice cannot be released commercially without clearing rights with the original artists, though they can be used for non-commercial promotion with proper credit.
Can I cancel my Steppas Family membership?
Yes, cancel anytime, no questions asked. You'll retain access until the end of your billing period. We also offer a 14-day money-back guarantee if you're not satisfied.
Where does my membership fee go?
Every membership supports producing new classes and resources, hosting videos and downloads, maintaining the platform, and keeping the project independent, no ads, no sponsors, no outside ownership.
Is anyone profiting from this?
Not in the traditional sense. Our goal is to build a sustainable, self-funded platform, not to extract profit. Any income beyond core costs goes back into more courses, better tools, and long-term community growth.
Why is it only available as a yearly membership?
We offer yearly access to protect the content, respect the contributors, and keep things sustainable. Monthly plans may come later, but for now we're focused on building a committed, long-term learning community.
How do I access the content after joining?
After joining, you'll have immediate access to all classes, resources, and community features. Simply log in to your account to start learning.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price you see is the price you pay. There are no hidden fees or additional charges.
Can I download the video lessons for offline viewing?
While video lessons must be streamed online, you can download all resources, sample packs, and other materials for offline use.
What happens when my membership expires?
When your membership expires, you'll lose access to the classes, resources, and community features. You can renew at any time to regain access.
Can I share my account with others?
No, memberships are for individual use only. We monitor account activity and may suspend accounts that are being shared.
How often is new content added?
We regularly add new classes, resources, and features. Members receive notifications when new content is available.
Can I get help if I'm stuck on a lesson?
Yes. You can ask questions in the community forum, or submit questions directly to tutors as a Steppas Family member.
